REBLOG. EVERYONE. Joseph Kony is the world’s worst war criminal. In 1987 he took over leadership of an existing rebel group and renamed it the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).
The LRA has earned a reputation for its cruel and brutal tactics. When Joseph Kony found himself running out of fighters, he started abducting children to be soldiers in his army or “wives” for his officers. The LRA is encouraged to rape, mutilate, and kill civilians–often with blunt weapons.
The LRA is no longer active in northern Uganda (where it originated) but it continues its campaign of violence in Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, and South Sudan. In its 26-year history, the LRA has abducted more than 30,000 children and displaced at least 2.1 million people.
What is the goal of KONY 2012?
Invisible Children has been working for 9 years to end Africa’s longest-running armed conflict. U.S. military advisers are currently deployed in Central Africa on a “time-limited” mission to stop Kony and disarm the LRA. If Kony isn’t captured this year, the window will be gone.
We are taking action to ensure these two things:
1) That Joseph Kony is known as the World’s Worst War Criminal.
2) That the U.S. military advisers support the Ugandan Army until Kony has been captured and the LRA has been completely disarmed. They need to follow through all the way and finish what they have started.
Why are we making Joseph Kony “famous”?
Invisible Children’s KONY 2012 campaign aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice. In this case, notoriety translates to public support. If people know about the crimes that Kony has been committing for 26 years, they will unite to stop him.
Secondly, we want Kony to be famous so that when he is stopped, he will be a visible, concrete example of international justice. Then other war criminals will know that their mass atrocities will not go unnoticed or unpunished.

Who is JOSEPH KONY?
He is THE WORST LIVING CRIMINAL. He abducts children and makes them use guns to kill their own parents. He takes girls and forces them to be sex slaves. He calls his abducted children the Lord’s Resistance Army, AKA the LRA. He has abducted over 30,000 children and forced them to be child soldiers in Central Africa. He remains at large because he is INVISIBLE to the world. FEW know his name, even FEWER know his crimes. WE ARE MAKING HIM FAMOUS! Because when he is, the world will unite against him and demand his arrest.
We can help make a change. We can make a difference.
I feel so inspired. I feel the need to help and make a difference. This has to happen in 2012. We can’t let him go around and keep doing this to children in Central Africa. Let’s make his name known so he can be stopped. HE CAN NO LONGER BE INVISIBLE!

Hi Everyone , My name is Ellise and I’m here to tell you about a global issue that has been hidden for 26 years.
In Uganda rebel gangs have been abducting children and manipulating them into killing or hurting others. Children from the ages of five and above have been brain washed into killing their family members and harming those around them. These rebels have been telling the children to re-arrange people’s faces and to kill their parents. And you’re probably thinking , why hasn’t anyone done anything? well Joseph Kony the creator of this war, has hidden himself in the vast jungles of Uganda and other countries near. No one has tried to stop him , but one brave man Jason Russell , ventured off to Uganda and met many children who were living in harsh conditions away from the town ,so that the rebels do not come and abduct them. When Jason and his team went to Uganda , they were interested in one main boy who was Jacob. Jacob was one of the thousands that was there in hiding away from the rebels. They interviewed him and they gained vital information which shows us what has been going on in there country and how dreadful is has become. These people have been training kids to kill there loved ones and Joseph Kony the leader of the rebel gangs only does this operation to gain more power in Uganda. However now that US Government has intervened Joseph has felt a threat and has changed his operation so that he is not captured and killed by them. He does not want to be taken by one of the greater powers which he sees is America.
The only way to stop Kony is to educate people all over the world about what he is doing and how to stop this injustice. So please watch this movie made about the Kony operation and please share it with friends and family so that we people of the world can help others live their life , fairly without casualty. This movie does go for 30 minutes however , these 30 minutes will change your view of life and make you want to help these people
Please take time out to recognise the amount of casualties that have occurred in the past twenty six years and pray that we and our future generation can help and fix this problem.
